Vera Wong is a pig. That's her Chinese zodiac sign, so when her morning routine running a "World Famous" tea shop is interrupted by finding a break-in — and a body — she HAS to do something about it. The police show up (but Vera could totally do a better job than them) and so do a rush of new customers, and Vera knows immediately they must be suspects. Vera is a little like Miss Marple if she lived in San Francisco's Chinatown. Although the mystery elements are simplistic, the cast of suspects — oops, characters — is fun, and the descriptions of Vera's homemade cooking made me crave it! A fun and fast read. I'd like to see if Vera gets a sequel to solve another mystery! —Melanie, Snail Readers Circle
